The Festival

Accords en Valromey was born from a meeting, a friendship, and a shared attachment to this valley. The festival was founded by the cellist Célia Garetti-Nicole, together with Véronique and Hervé, with the desire to bring classical music to the heart of the Valromey in a spirit of sharing, closeness, and conviviality.

Through conversations and the exchange of ideas, one thing became clear: to create together a musical event that reflects both the region and the people who live there. All three shared the ambition of presenting concerts of the highest artistic quality while remaining accessible and welcoming, in venues that foster a genuine connection between artists and audiences.

Thanks to her international studies in London, Basel, Madrid, and more recently at the Jaroussky Academy, Célia immediately wanted to invite exceptionally talented young musicians with whom she had already had the pleasure of performing. It was the perfect opportunity to reunite with friends and make great music together.

The project quickly took shape as a non-profit association supported by volunteers, musicians, and local residents committed to the cultural life of the Valromey.

The team soon expanded, notably with the arrival of Alain, who plays an essential role as our Technical Director and liaison with the National Stage network, as well as Michel, the association’s new Secretary, whose network and experience in the non-profit sector have been invaluable to the project.

Since its inception, Accords en Valromey has proudly contributed to the vibrant cultural life already present in the region by showcasing the richness of the chamber music repertoire and the diversity of musical voices, both past and present.

The festival also places special emphasis on rediscovering rarely performed works, particularly those by women composers who have sometimes been overlooked in music history. This commitment to sharing, curiosity, and openness lies at the heart of every programme.

Today, Accords en Valromey continues to grow thanks to the enthusiasm of its artists, volunteers, partners, and audiences. More than a series of concerts, the festival aims to be a moment of connection and exchange, where music naturally finds its place at the heart of the community and the region.
